Many of the fabrics that Philly High Fiber uses are made using the ancient art of Shibori. In the example above uses one of the six Shibori techniques - kanoko, which involves pinching particular areas, especially to create circular patterns. You can see the outline of the Maple Leaf - with each tiny circle created by hand by pinching a small amount of fabric tied with thread. Once all of the ties are completed, the entire fabric piece is dyed. Once the dye shade is reached, the fabric is rinsed well, and all of the thread is removed - thus creating beautiful patterns.
